My name is Chris and I build levels.
I’ve been working on games in the industry for over ten years and continue to enjoy working on such a rewarding and dynamic profession. The chance to make things that are potentially being played and enjoyed by millions of people is a constant privilege and I hope to continue doing so while developing new skills and giving gamers awesome and memorable experiences. It’s rare to be able to enjoy a profession you would otherwise be doing as a passionate hobby and be part of such a creative industry that’s unlike any other.
In 1997 I opened my first level editor for Duke Nukem 3D, put together some crappy rooms and threw in some weapons. Eighteen months later I loaded Hammer for the first time and began building some (terrible) HLDM maps, using carve as often as possible. After playing all night on a mod called “Counter-Strike” I decided to try and build some maps for it. Twelve years later, I’m still doing it.
If you’re a gamer or amateur developer I hope you enjoyed the content I’ve contributed to, or if you have any comments or questions (or hate mail) you can send it to narby at narby dot net.
